The beacons were constructed by volunteers of the Northern California <span class=\"caps\">DX<\/span> Foundation (<span class=\"caps\">NCDXF<\/span>) and operate from 18 locations on the following frequencies on a&nbsp;time-shared basis: 14.100, 18.110, 21.150, 24.930, and 28.200 MHz. The <span class=\"caps\">NCDXF<\/span>\/<span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> beacons help both amateur and non-amateur <span class=\"caps\">HF<\/span> radio users assess the current condition of the ionosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>See <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 2&nbsp;active and inactive beacons <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/storage.iaru-r2.org\/index.php\/s\/mDCqpdaf8AXt3An\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/strong> You can download the list as .<span class=\"caps\">XLS<\/span>, .<span class=\"caps\">XLX<\/span>, .<span class=\"caps\">ODS<\/span> or .<span class=\"caps\">CSV<\/span>. Please send an email to <a href=\"mailto:hfbeacon@iaru-r2.org\">hfbeacon@\u200biaru-\u200br2.\u200borg<\/a> if you see anything that needs to be corrected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional beacons operate in the 10 meter band from 28.100 MHz to 28.300 MHz and should be coordinated by one of the regional <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Beacon Coordinators following the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Band&nbsp;Plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amateur Radio Operators desiring to implement any beacon should ensure that it operates within the regulations governing amateur radio operations in each country and consult the appropriate Regional <span class=\"caps\">HF<\/span> beacon coordinator.
