The IARU<\/span> Administrative Council AC<\/span>) appoints advisors and coordinators to serve in specialized roles.<\/p>\n

The Satellite Advisor, currently Hans Blondeel Timmerman, PB2T<\/span>, handles amateur satellite frequency coordination<\/a>; keeps the AC<\/span> informed on all technical and operational aspects of the amateur satellite service; provides advice and assistance to enable the AC<\/span> to adopt appropriate policies; and informs the satellite community about the work of the IARU<\/span>. An Advisory Panel composed of satellite experts from around the globe assists the Satellite Advisor.<\/p>\n

The Beacon Project International Coordinator, currently Peter Jennings, AB6WM<\/span>\/VE3SUN<\/span>, provides liaison with the Northern California DX<\/span> Foundation and the volunteers who maintain the network of time-sharing beacons<\/a> that operate on 14.100, 18.110, 21.150, 24.930, and 28.200 MHz. He also advises the AC<\/span> on HF<\/span> beacon matters generally.<\/p>\n

The EMC<\/span> Coordinator, currently vacant, coordinates representation of amateur and amateur-satellite interests on electromagnetic compatibility (EMC<\/span>) issues<\/a> with special responsibility for CISPR<\/span>. The EMC<\/span> Coordinator ensures that the AC<\/span> is fully informed on EMC<\/span> matters.<\/p>\n

The Emergency Communications Special Advisor, currently Rod Stafford, W6ROD<\/span>, represents the IARU<\/span> in the ITU<\/span> Development Sector (ITU<\/span>\u2011D) [external link]<\/a> and offers advice and counsel to the AC<\/span> on matters relating to emergency and disaster response communications.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
