The headquarters of the Fire Department of the city of San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic was the place in which members of the Radio Club Dominicano talked to young aspiring radio amateurs that include members of the local Fire Department, Civil Defense and the Red Cross.<\/p>\n

The speech titled \u201cYou can also become a radio amateur\u201d was given by Vantroi Pe\u00f1a HI8VPB<\/span> (on the photo with the microphone in hand) and Luis A. Mena HI8LAM<\/span> on Saturday, January 17th<\/sup>, 2009. They emphasized the role of Amateur Radio in emergency situations.<\/p>\n

Brigadier General Carlos Tomas Ramos welcomed and thanked the members of the Radio Club Dominicano<\/a> as well as Mayor Santana Director of the Fire Academy and liaison with the Radio Club.<\/p>\n

A large delegation of Radio Club Dominicano<\/a> was also present including RCD<\/span> President Hugo Ramon HI8VRS<\/span>, V\u00edctor B\u00e1ez HI8VB<\/span>, Victor Hugo So\u00f1\u00e9 HI8HS<\/span>, Lu\u00eds Beltr\u00e1n HI8LIB<\/span>, Jose Gil HI8JSG<\/span>, David Flores HI8DBF<\/span> and Alan Sisa HI8ASU<\/span>.<\/p>\n
