\"Citel<\/a>From June 2nd<\/sup> to 5th<\/sup>, there was a CITEL<\/span> PCC<\/span>.II<\/span> meeting held in Ottawa Canada. Well over 100 delegates from countries of the Americas gathered for a meeting preparatory to the next World Radio Conference that should be in Geneva late in 2011. Almost every items on the WRC<\/span> Agenda were discussed with a goal to find common grounds that would be supported by the CITEL<\/span> countries. Amateurs were represented by Dario, HP1DJ<\/span> and Daniel, VE2KA<\/span> for the IARU<\/span> Region 2, Jon, WB3ERA<\/span> on the delegation of the USA<\/span> and Ken VE3PU<\/span>, Bryan VE3QN<\/span> and Jim VE3IQ<\/span> that were on the Canadian delegation.<\/p>\n

Some subjects of interest to Amateur Radio were discussed. On BPL<\/span>, a drafting group was formed, headed by Canada, that was tasked to present standards for adoption at the next PCC<\/span>.II<\/span> meeting next November in Washington, USA<\/span>. Canada and the USA<\/span> presented Preliminary Views on Agenda Item 1.23. A common paper was produced and adopted by the plenary that will most probably be the basis of a joint Region 2 proposal at an upcoming meeting. Also, we kept an eye on Agenda Items 1.14, 1.15 and 1.22 that although not of direct interest to Amateur Radio, could affect us depending on the positions adopted.
