(<span class=\"caps\">RCD<\/span>) organization that groups the ham radio operators in the Dominican Republic since the 1926, sent to the border with Haiti in the early morning of the past Friday 15 of January, a&nbsp;technical team with the mision to establish a&nbsp;system to serve as communications radio bridge between the Dominican Republic and&nbsp;Haiti.<\/p>\n<p>The team conformed by: Yoaldy Cleto (<span class=\"caps\">HI8RYC<\/span>), Vantroi Pe\u00f1a (<span class=\"caps\">HI8VP<\/span>), Jaime Morcelo (<span class=\"caps\">HI8JNS<\/span>), Rodrigo Garcia (<span class=\"caps\">HI8ROD<\/span>), Angel Carpio (<span class=\"caps\">HI8ABC<\/span>) and Harold Pantaleon archive it\u0092s mision, making possible the link between both nations after the earthquake that had as epicenter the capital of&nbsp;Haiti.<\/p>\n<p>Jointly with the technical team, was sent a&nbsp;radio operators team (integrated by: Candido Guzm\u00e1n (<span class=\"caps\">HI8CJG<\/span>), Teddy Jimenez (<span class=\"caps\">HI3TEJ<\/span>) \u0096 one of the world champions in Ham Radio Contests, David Flores (<span class=\"caps\">HI8DBF<\/span>) and Fausto Alvarado (<span class=\"caps\">HI8FLB<\/span>)) to install an emergency radio communications station (<span class=\"caps\">HI8RCD<\/span>\/<span class=\"caps\">HH<\/span>) that operates at the Dominican Embassy in Port au Prince.<\/p>\n<p>The frequencies being used for the system established by the Dominican Radio Club are: 146.880 \u2011600 tone 100 in the border and Haiti (including Port au Prince) and 146.970 \u2011600 tone 100 covering the 85% of the territory of the Dominican Republic and part of the west coast of Puerto Rico. The communications of this network can be listened on the internet accessing the 0604 node of Wires 2&nbsp;and Hi8PAL station in Echolink.<\/p>\n<p>This network has been recognized and actually used by the Dominican Red Cross, the Civil Protection Agency, the Emergency Operations Center (<span class=\"caps\">COE<\/span>) of the Dominican Republic and by the Secretary of State of the Dominican Armed Forces office, like the only radio communications system able to completely cover almost the entire island.<\/p>\n<p>On the picture: The technical \u201cAlpha\u201d team that supplied the communications with Haiti and the \u201cBravo\u201d team of radio operators that travelled to Port au Prince.
