On April 18, 2013 we\u0092ll celebrate the World Amateur Radio Day on the 88th<\/sup> Anniversary of the founding of the International Amateur Radio Union, IARU<\/span>.<\/p>\n

This theme for this year World Amateur Radio Day is \u0093Amateur Radio: Entering Its Second Century of Disaster Communications\u0094<\/p>\n

Several Member Societies, and clubs related to them, will have special event stations on the air.<\/p>\n

Mexico \u0096 FMRE<\/span>, with the help of Grupo DXXE<\/span>, will activate a unique prefix for the first time: 4A8DMR<\/span> (DMR<\/span> = D\u00eda Mundial del Radioaficionado). This station will be active from April 18 to 21, 2013 on all bands from 6 meters to 160 in all modes including EME<\/span> and amateur radio satellites from different Grid Locators throughout Mexico.<\/p>\n

QSL<\/span> via N7RO<\/span> and LoTW.<\/p>\n

Log will be available also on ClubLog.<\/p>\n

Puerto Rico on the air in WARD<\/span> 2013<\/p>\n

To make echo of this year\u0092s theme \u0093Amateur Radio: entering its Second Century of Disaster Communications\u0094, the Puerto Rico Field Day Group will be operating KP4FD<\/span> to celebrate World Amateur Radio Day on the Municipal Emergency Management Agency Office (OMME<\/span>) on the city of Cata\u00f1o. There will be a presentation about Amateur Radio in the premises. Operation will be on the HF<\/span> bands.<\/p>\n

Confirmations will be via LoTW and there will be an electronic certificate available, make your petition with info on QSO<\/span> to wp3gw@\u200barrl.\u200bnet<\/a>. Radio CLub Domincano<\/p>\n

The Radio Club Dominicano will celebrate the World Amateur Radio Day in the Dominican Republic with several activities throughout the day that will include different talks at schools in the city of Santo Domingo and will culminate in the evening with the blessing of the renovation that was made in to the headquarters of the RCD<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Please be advised that EL2RL<\/span> representing the Liberia Radio Amateur Association (LRAA<\/span>) will be active on the 21st<\/sup> of April and not on April18, on 10, 15, 17 and 20 meters due to the pressing engagements of the members during the week.
