{"id":2667,"date":"2013-05-14T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-13T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beta.iaru-r2.org\/station-co2frc-in-globalset-april-2013\/"},"modified":"2013-05-14T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-05-13T22:00:00","slug":"station-co2frc-in-globalset-april-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/en\/station-co2frc-in-globalset-april-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Station <span class=\"caps\">CO2FRC<\/span> in GlobalSET April&nbsp;2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/frc2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1785\" alt=\"frc\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/frc2-146x150.jpg\" width=\"146\" height=\"150\"><\/a>Federaci\u00f3n de Radioaficionados de Cuba (<span class=\"caps\">FRC<\/span>) was present in the GlobalSET emergency communications exercise held on April 13 and 20, 2013, as <span class=\"caps\">HQ<\/span> station representing <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 2, with four radio operators (<span class=\"caps\">CO2JD<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">CO2MS<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">CM2JEC<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">CO2CW<\/span>) in the CoA frequencies of <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span>&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"caps\">FRC<\/span> also participated during the GlobalSET with 89 radio stations operating in <span class=\"caps\">HF<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">VHF<\/span>\/<span class=\"caps\">UHF<\/span> from to 9&nbsp;radio clubs located in different regions of&nbsp;Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>Despite bad propagation conditions in <span class=\"caps\">HF<\/span> during both sessions of the GlobalSET April 2013 exercise and difficulties to establish communications with radio stations from other countries in Region 2, station <span class=\"caps\">CO2FRC<\/span> handled traffic as follows: 139 messages during the first session (103 in <span class=\"caps\">SSB<\/span>, 2&nbsp;in Digital Modes, and 34 in <span class=\"caps\">VHF<\/span>\/<span class=\"caps\">UHF<\/span>) and 23 messages in <span class=\"caps\">SSB<\/span> during the second session of the exercise.<\/p>\n<p>Francisco Hern\u00e1ndez Alonso, <span class=\"caps\">CO2HA<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">FRC<\/span> Vice-President stated that GlobalSET April 2013, \u0093was the first but not the last experience for many amateurs; it enabled us to verify the emergency networks of many territories and to rate their effectiveness in having the equipment, antenna and operator ready to face not only a&nbsp;simulation but real emergencies.
