\"frc\"<\/a>Federaci\u00f3n de Radioaficionados de Cuba (FRC<\/span>) was present in the GlobalSET emergency communications exercise held on April 13 and 20, 2013, as HQ<\/span> station representing IARU<\/span> Region 2, with four radio operators (CO2JD<\/span>, CO2MS<\/span>, CM2JEC<\/span> and CO2CW<\/span>) in the CoA frequencies of IARU<\/span> R2<\/span>.<\/p>\n

FRC<\/span> also participated during the GlobalSET with 89 radio stations operating in HF<\/span> and VHF<\/span>\/UHF<\/span> from to 9 radio clubs located in different regions of Cuba.<\/p>\n

Despite bad propagation conditions in HF<\/span> during both sessions of the GlobalSET April 2013 exercise and difficulties to establish communications with radio stations from other countries in Region 2, station CO2FRC<\/span> handled traffic as follows: 139 messages during the first session (103 in SSB<\/span>, 2 in Digital Modes, and 34 in VHF<\/span>\/UHF<\/span>) and 23 messages in SSB<\/span> during the second session of the exercise.<\/p>\n

Francisco Hern\u00e1ndez Alonso, CO2HA<\/span>, FRC<\/span> Vice-President stated that GlobalSET April 2013, \u0093was the first but not the last experience for many amateurs; it enabled us to verify the emergency networks of many territories and to rate their effectiveness in having the equipment, antenna and operator ready to face not only a simulation but real emergencies.
