\"FRC<\/a>The third week of November 2014 the Federaci\u00f3n de Radioaficionados de Cuba and IARU<\/span> Region 2 paid a visit to the Cuban Ministerio de la Inform\u00e1tica y de las Comunicaciones.<\/p>\n

At this meeting, top right photo, were present the Vice Minister of Communications Ing. Manuel Martinez Montes de Oca and Lic. Yunier Cabrera, Head of Department of International Organizations. By the FRC<\/span> attended its President Pedro Rodr\u00edguez CO2RP<\/span> and by IARU<\/span> Region 2 its Vice-President Ramon Santoyo, XE1KK<\/span>.<\/p>\n

During this event several issues were discussed among them the impressive growth in recent years of licensed radio amateurs in Cuba, the internet and intranet services that the FRC<\/span> provide them, emergency communications and the 5 MHz band.<\/p>\n

Vice President Santoyo voiced his appreciation to the Vice Minister for the support of the Ministry to FRC<\/span> in favor of amateur radio. Also publicly acknowledged the good performance of the Federation of Radio Amateurs of Cuba under the direction of Pedro Rodr\u00edguez CO2RP<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Later, in the headquarters of FRC<\/span>, a meeting of IARU<\/span> R2<\/span> with FRC<\/span>\u0092s National Executive took place. In this meeting the above topics were reviewed. A demonstration of the amazing web site that the FRC<\/span> offers its nationals also took place. This intranet contains discussion forums, technical information, DX<\/span> cluster, Keplerian elements, propagation analysis in real time, affiliate directory, etc. The computer site of the FRC<\/span> was visited, top left photo.<\/p>\n

At this meeting were present, bottom photo, from left to right Francisco Hern\u00e1ndez Alonso, CO2HA<\/span>, Vice President FRC<\/span>; Pedro Rodriguez, CO2RP<\/span>, President of FRC<\/span>; Ram\u00f3n Santoyo, XE1KK<\/span>, Vice President IARU<\/span> Region 2; Mallet Leonardo Ramirez, CL2LMR<\/span>, Secretary General of FRC<\/span>; Jos\u00e9 Luis Fern\u00e1ndez Valdez, CM2DX<\/span>, President of Havana subsidiary society and Carlos Mart\u00ednez Fragoso, CO2CW<\/span>, Technical Secretary and Coordinator of the DX<\/span> Group.<\/p>\n

After the meeting the FRC<\/span> hosted a dinner in which the attendees and their companions enjoyed the widely acclaimed Cuban cuisine and hospitality.<\/p>\n
