Today, a significant ceremony was held for the delivery of the equipment acquired with AREF<\/span> (Amateur Radio Education Fund) funds for the project of \u0093Diffusion and preparation for amateur radio in the Bio Bio Basin\u0094. The ceremony counted on the presence of the President and Directors of Radio Club Concepci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

The AREF<\/span> fund was established by IARU<\/span> Region 2 in the General Assembly of 2004. It is available for member societies to propose projects aimed at strengthening amateur radio in schools with educational programs for students, children and youths, from technical formation institutions in order to promote in them the interest for amateur radio and that in the technical environment, amateur radio is used as a development tool.<\/p>\n

The project of \u201cDiffusion and preparation for amateur radio in the Bio Bio Basin\u201d, sponsored by Radio Club de Chile as member Society and executed by its associate Radio Club Concepci\u00f3n, involves a total amount of US<\/span> $12.000, of which US<\/span>$ 4,200 are contributed by IARU<\/span> Region 2 and have been allocated to the acquisition of the following equipment delivered today:<\/p>\n
