Busan, 2014), aims to create a&nbsp;global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of ICTs, enabling both girls and technology companies to reap the benefits of greater female participation in the <span class=\"caps\">ICT<\/span> sector. International Girls in <span class=\"caps\">ICT<\/span> Day is celebrated on the 4<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Thursday in April every&nbsp;year.<\/p>\n<p>In <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 2, we consider that amateur radio is an excellent way for girls to get to know and appreciate ICTs and for this reason we join in this global celebration by inviting our member societies to send us news and pictures of amateur radio promotional activities for girls and young women during the month of&nbsp;April.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>International Girls in Information and Telecommunication Technologies (<span class=\"caps\">ICT<\/span>) Day, an initiative backed by all <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span> Member States in <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span> Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev.
