\u0093New\u0094 Belize Amateur Radio Club Admitted to IARU<\/span> Membership<\/p>\n

The member-societies of the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU<\/span>) have approved a proposal to admit a new representative of the radio amateurs of Belize to IARU<\/span> membership. As of the deadline for voting, 9 May 2017, 77 member-societies had voted in favor of admitting the Belize Amateur Radio Club (BARC<\/span>) with none opposed. There were no abstentions. The affirmative votes of 55 member-societies were required for approval.<\/p>\n

Belize previously was represented in the IARU<\/span> by another organization of the same name. Once the IARU<\/span> Administrative Council determined that this earlier organization no longer existed, IARU<\/span> Region 2 accepted an application for membership from the new BARC<\/span> and confirmed that it satisfied the requirements of the IARU<\/span> Constitution and Bylaws.<\/p>\n
