{"id":2846,"date":"2018-04-28T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-27T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/beta.iaru-r2.org\/iaru-region-iii-50th-anniversary-award\/"},"modified":"2018-04-28T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2018-04-27T22:00:00","slug":"iaru-region-iii-50th-anniversary-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/en\/iaru-region-iii-50th-anniversary-award\/","title":{"rendered":"<span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region <span class=\"caps\">III<\/span> 50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/iaru-r3-logo.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4447\" src=\"http:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/iaru-r3-logo-76x150.jpg\" alt width=\"76\" height=\"150\"><\/a>To celebrate this milestone, the Directors of Region 3&nbsp;has initialed an award for amateur operators who contact Special Event Stations within Region <span class=\"caps\">III<\/span> during the period 1<sup class=\"ordinal\">st<\/sup> May 2018 and 31<sup class=\"ordinal\">st<\/sup> October 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The 50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary <span class=\"caps\">IARU-R3<\/span> Award&nbsp;Rules<\/p>\n<p>1.&nbsp;The International Amateur Radio Union Region 3 (Asia-Pacific region) will grant the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary of Award to radio amateurs who certify having contacted or heard (<span class=\"caps\">SWL<\/span>) atleast 5 (five) contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>) s&nbsp;on different modes or bands with Special Event Station for commemorating the 50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary of <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;from eligible countries are those in Region <span class=\"caps\">III<\/span> whose amateur societies are members of <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3.<\/p>\n<p>2.&nbsp;For those purpose the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;encourages the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;member society to setup and on the air with the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary Special Event Call Sign between May 1<sup class=\"ordinal\">st<\/sup>, 2018 until October 31<sup class=\"ordinal\">st<\/sup>, 2018 in the following bands: 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, 6, 2&nbsp;meters, 70 centimeters and modes: <span class=\"caps\">MIXED<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">PHONE<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">CW<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">DIGIMODES<\/span> and <span class=\"caps\">SATELLITE<\/span><\/p>\n<p>3.&nbsp;The <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary Special Event Call Sign is an amateur station call sign run by the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;member society operating in conjunction with these short-term event purpose.<\/p>\n<p>4.&nbsp;The <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;suggest to the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;member society to use number 50 as their Special Event Call Sign Prefix number and <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> as their Special Event Call Sign Suffix. (i.e. <span class=\"caps\">YB50IARU<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">9M50IARU<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">JA50IARU<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">VK50IARU<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">HS50IARU<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">BY50IARU<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">BV50IARU<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">VR50IARU<\/span>. <span class=\"caps\">VU50IARU<\/span>, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>5.&nbsp;The <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Special Event Call Sign stations must be send their electronic logs in a&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">ADIF<\/span> format to http:\/\/\u200bawards\u200b-iaru\u200b-r3\u200b.org as soon as your QSOs finished and no later than November 1<sup class=\"ordinal\">st<\/sup>&nbsp;2018.<\/p>\n<p>6.&nbsp;Valid contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s must be made between May 1<sup class=\"ordinal\">st<\/sup>, 2018 00:00 <span class=\"caps\">UTC<\/span> until October 31<sup class=\"ordinal\">st<\/sup>, 2018 24:00&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">UTC<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>7.&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">QSL<\/span> cards are not needed for this&nbsp;award.<\/p>\n<p>8.&nbsp;The Award has no&nbsp;cost.<br> The <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary will issued in digital file&nbsp;(pdf format) and can be downloaded directly from the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary Award website http:\/\/\u200bawards\u200b-iaru\u200b-r3\u200b.org<\/p>\n<p>9.&nbsp;Amateur around the world who made contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s with the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary Special Event Stations and met the Award requirement can download their <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region 3&nbsp;50<sup class=\"ordinal\">th<\/sup> Anniversary Award directly from http:\/\/\u200bawards\u200b-iaru\u200b-r3\u200b.org<\/p>\n<p>10.&nbsp;Eligible countries are those in Region <span class=\"caps\">III<\/span> whose amateur societies are members of <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Region <span class=\"caps\">III<\/span>. These are: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, Chinese Taipei (Taiwan), Fiji, French Polynesia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Pitcairn Island, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Tonga, Vanuatu, Vietnam, and country credit from <span class=\"caps\">US<\/span> Territories in the Pacific from Guam, Northern Marianas, American Samoa, Wake Island, Baker Howland Group, as presented by <span class=\"caps\">ARRL<\/span> or Chagos Archipelago (<span class=\"caps\">VQ9<\/span>), represented by&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">RSGB<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Requirements for Award as Basic, 5 (five) contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s on different modes or bands with Special Event Station,&nbsp;Silver Endorsement, 10 (ten) contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s on different modes or bands with Special Event Station; Gold Endorsement, 15 (fifteen) contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s on different modes or bands with Special Event Station.<\/p>\n<p>More than one <span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span> with a&nbsp;same Special Event Station can be counted, if each <span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span> is on different mode or&nbsp;band.<\/p>\n<p>Only valid contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s will be counted based on each mode, each&nbsp;band.<br> Duplication contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s with the Special Event Station in the same mode and in the same band are not counted.<\/p>\n<p>11.&nbsp;It is possible to apply for the award for contacts made in the following modes: <span class=\"caps\">MIXED<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">PHONE<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">CW<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">DIGIMODES<\/span> or <span class=\"caps\">SATELLITE<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>12.&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">BANDS<\/span>: Contacts (<span class=\"caps\">QSO<\/span>)s can be made in the following bands: 160, 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, 10, 6, 2&nbsp;meters and 70 centimeters individual or multi\u2009\u2014\u2009band.<\/p>\n<p>13.&nbsp;All contacts must be made from the same country, using any official call letters that belong to the applicant (including special licenses for contests or events) and must be bilateral or two-way.
