In Lima, Peru, on October 3, 2019, an Emergency Communication Workshop (ECW<\/span>)<\/a> will be held after the XX<\/span> IARU<\/span> R2<\/span> Assembly, with the purpose of exchanging information and increasing the response capacity of Member Societies (MS<\/span>) of Region 2, in emergency communications, with the following topics<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Chiapas earthquake and Fuego volcano eruption
\n<\/strong>Describes the activity of Guatemalan radio amateurs during the Chiapas earthquake and Fuego volcano eruption.<\/p>\n

Mexico City earthquake
\n<\/strong>Describe the experiences of Mexican radio amateurs in support of emergency communications in Mexico City during the earthquake of 2017.<\/p>\n

Winlink Workshop
\n<\/strong>This is a didactic workshop to learn to use the Winlink network to send and receive e\u2011mail messages through radio equipment.<\/p>\n

The Mercalli scale in the Chile early warning system
\n<\/strong>Describe the use of the Mercalli seismic scale in the early warning system in the presence of an earthquake in Chilean territory.<\/p>\n

Also will be present speakers from: FRC-Cuba, GRC-Ecuador, RAC-Canada, and RCP-Peru; <\/strong>with a description their activities in emergency communications.<\/p>\n
