The meeting, which lasts four weeks, will be attended by three thousand delegates from most of the countries around the world, and will discuss and agree changes to the <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span> Radio Regulations.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> and its member-societies will be there, representing the amateur and amateur satellite services with a&nbsp;team of 14 people from 10 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Of particular interest to <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> are the positions on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Agenda Item (<span class=\"caps\">AI<\/span>) 1.1, to allocate spectrum in the 50\u2009\u2013\u200954 MHz Region in Region 1&nbsp;to the amateur service<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"caps\">AI<\/span> 1.13 to consider new spectrum of International Mobile Telecommunications, which potentially might impact amateur spectrum at around 47&nbsp;GHz<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"caps\">AI<\/span> 1.16 which could impact the 5&nbsp;GHz amateur spectrum<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"caps\">AI<\/span> 9.1.6 on Wireless Power Transmission, where harmonics of <span class=\"caps\">WPT<\/span> systems can impact the <span class=\"caps\">MF<\/span>\/<span class=\"caps\">HF<\/span> radio spectrum<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"caps\">AI<\/span> 10 \u0096 where it is possible that future agenda items at <span class=\"caps\">WRC-23<\/span> could impact the amateur service, including the 1240\u2009\u2013\u20091300 MHz&nbsp;band.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This meeting is the culmination of four years\u0092 work by <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> in <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span> and regional telecommunications organizations to protect and enhance amateur service frequency allocations. The <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> team will provide updates as the Conference progresses.<\/p>\n<p>The <span class=\"caps\">WRC<\/span> has a&nbsp;wide-ranging agenda of which the amateur issues are but a&nbsp;small part.
