On Tuesday 2nd<\/sup> February 2021, the St Kitts Nevis Anguilla Amateur Radio Society, SKNAARS<\/span> held its Annual General Meeting and elections of officers at the Red Cross headquarters, Basseterre, St Kitts. The election process was supervised by Mr Christopher Mc Mahon, a long serving and revered member of the SKNAARS<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The five (5) positions vied for were: President, Vice President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Treasurer. Four (4) of which filled. The post of Assistant Secretary will be filled at its next monthly meeting.<\/p>\n

The results of the elections were as follows: Mr Kennedy De Silva, V44KEN<\/span> was elected as president, Mr Ozbert France, V44OF<\/span> was elected Vice President, Mrs Jessica St Luce-Warner, V44LW<\/span> was returned unopposed to the position of Secretary and Mrs Patricia Isaac-Williams, V44PAT<\/span> was elected as the Treasurer.<\/p>\n

The above Executive will serve for one year, that is 2021 to 2022.<\/p>\n

The Membership also received reports from the President and the various Standing Committees of the SKNAARS<\/span> and approved amendments to its constitution which will be enforced on 1st<\/sup> February 2022.<\/p>\n

Maximizing on the moment, five (5) fellow avid amateur radio operators were recognized for their unfailing and sterling contribution to the SKNAARS<\/span> over the years. They were: Mr Basil Woods, V44KBW<\/span>; Mr Trevor Seaton, V44KBT<\/span>, Mr Hugh Mallalieu, V44KM<\/span>, Mr Erickson France, v44KK and Mr Henry Ryan, V44KW<\/span>.<\/p>\n

The new president in addressing the Membership thanked them for the confidence placed in him and noted that there is much work to be done especially in targeting and resolving the spectrum interference matter that has and continues to plague its Membership for over four (4) four years and obtaining a permanent home for its Members.<\/p>\n

The St Kitts and Nevis Amateur Radio Society is a nonprofit organization that has been in existence in the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis since 1973.
