He participated in four DXpeditions to Aves Island <span class=\"caps\">YV\u00d8<\/span> and two to Aland Islands <span class=\"caps\">OH\u00d8<\/span>, besides activating several Venezuelan islands valid for <span class=\"caps\">IOTA<\/span>, among them Los Monjes, Isla de Toas, La Tortuga and La Blanquilla, Los Frailes.<\/p>\n<p>An avid DXer and passionate contester, he held the <span class=\"caps\">DXCC<\/span> Honor Roll with <sup class=\"numerator\">352<\/sup>\u2044<sub class=\"denominator\">339<\/sub> countries confirmed, had the 5\u2011band <span class=\"caps\">DXCC<\/span> and the <span class=\"caps\">DX<\/span> Challenge. Reinaldo was a&nbsp;member of Grupo <span class=\"caps\">DX<\/span> Caracas and of the Venezuela <span class=\"caps\">DX<\/span> Club, which operated in contests as <span class=\"caps\">YW4M<\/span>, and <span class=\"caps\">YV4A<\/span>, obtaining high scores all the time, especially in the multi-multi category of the <span class=\"caps\">CQ<\/span> World Wide <span class=\"caps\">SSB<\/span> contest.<\/p>\n<p>Among his work in radio amateur organizations, worth mentioning is his participation in <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span>, which he joined in 1998, holding several positions, such as President of the&nbsp;Executive Committee from 2007 to 2019, as well as member of the Administrative Committee at the world level. He was a&nbsp;member of the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> core delegation to the World Radio Conferences of Geneva in 2008 and 2011. Always willing to help, after being President of <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span>, he became manager of the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span>, a&nbsp;position that he held until his passing.<\/p>\n<p>In real life, he held a&nbsp;law degree and was also a&nbsp;talented diplomat, with a&nbsp;career of 36 years in the Venezuelan foreign service, serving in countries such as Finland, Belgium, Argentina, the Vatican, and others.<\/p>\n<p>Ram\u00f3n Santoyo, <span class=\"caps\">XE1KK<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">IARU-R2<\/span> current President stated: <em>\u201cReinaldo was a&nbsp;very dear friend. His contributions to the work of <span class=\"caps\">IARU-R2<\/span> were always very significant and transcendental.
