{"id":5284,"date":"2021-12-23T21:02:47","date_gmt":"2021-12-23T20:02:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/?p=5284"},"modified":"2021-12-23T21:02:47","modified_gmt":"2021-12-23T20:02:47","slug":"celebrate-the-new-year-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/en\/celebrate-the-new-year-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Celebrate the New Year:&nbsp;2022!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A bright spot in an otherwise challenging year is that our shared passion of amateur radio is growing stronger.&nbsp;The increase in on-the-air activityhas been noticeable, especially on the <span class=\"caps\">HF<\/span> bands.&nbsp;Driven by reawakening solar activity and the rapid adoption of digital modes such as <span class=\"caps\">FT8<\/span>, the bands are active, not just during evenings and weekends, but also during \u201cnormal\u201d working hours, where more than a&nbsp;few of us have been known to be in video conference calls while making QSOs.
