{"id":5489,"date":"2022-04-30T02:34:18","date_gmt":"2022-04-30T00:34:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/?p=5489"},"modified":"2022-04-30T02:34:18","modified_gmt":"2022-04-30T00:34:18","slug":"about-the-world-amateur-radio-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/en\/about-the-world-amateur-radio-day\/","title":{"rendered":"About the \u201cWorld Amateur Radio&nbsp;Day\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As every April 18, Federaci\u00f3n de Radioaficionados de Cuba (<span class=\"caps\">FRC<\/span>), with different on-the-air activities, celebrated the \u201cWorld Amateur Radio Day\u201d and paid tribute to the International Amateur Radio Union (<span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span>), founded on that date in&nbsp;1925.<\/p>\n<p>This was a&nbsp;year where Cuban radio amateurs most enthusiastically commemorated this date that makes us proud and strengthens the unity, friendship and sense of belonging to the organization that so worthily represents us all. Going on the air to share the contribution of amateur radio to society and to publicize its contributions was a&nbsp;real celebration, something truly relevant given the important role played by the&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>In Cuba, the celebration focused on and promoted activities in radio clubs and regional subsidiaries, becoming an event of recognition lasting all April, with a&nbsp;highlight being the activation of the <span class=\"caps\">T47C<\/span> Camag\u00fcey special station, which reported the largest number of contacts in the <span class=\"caps\">HF<\/span> Bands and of <span class=\"caps\">CO2FRC<\/span> at the national headquarters, which marked the restart of traditional activities after the pandemic forced a&nbsp;temporary interruption of operations at <span class=\"caps\">FRC<\/span>.
