{"id":5560,"date":"2022-08-01T16:17:07","date_gmt":"2022-08-01T14:17:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/?p=5560"},"modified":"2022-09-16T21:24:58","modified_gmt":"2022-09-16T19:24:58","slug":"bulletin-2-region-2-general-assembly-countdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/en\/bulletin-2-region-2-general-assembly-countdown\/","title":{"rendered":"Bulletin #2: Region 2&nbsp;General Assembly Countdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This bulletin summarizes the key Member Society activities to prepare for the General Assembly, held virtually October 31 through November 4&nbsp;in five sessions, each starting at 2300&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">UTC<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Report on the Member Society Activities undertaken in the past three years (submit by: Oct&nbsp;1)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Include topics such as: number of amateurs in the country, recruiting especially of youth, regulatory items, projects and initiatives, lessons learned\u2026<\/p>\n<p>If desired, this report can be in the form of a&nbsp;short (5 min) video or may be written.&nbsp;Delegates will be asked to select their favourite video in the closing plenary.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Selection of a&nbsp;Head of Delegation and Delegates (submit by: Oct 1, must be prior to Oct&nbsp;31)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Member Society must be in good standing: dues must be current (paid through 2020)<\/p>\n<p>Those selected should be confirmed by the Society\u2019s <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Liaison person<\/p>\n<p>The Credentials Committee will meet to review these on Tuesday, Nov&nbsp;1.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Candidate Nominations for <span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span> Area Director or Officer (submit by: Oct 1, must be prior to Oct&nbsp;31)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Candidate must be a&nbsp;Member of their national Member Society which is in good standing<\/p>\n<p>Candidate amateur activities resume and letter affirming ability and willingness to&nbsp;serve<\/p>\n<p>Candidates should prepare a&nbsp;brief video (2 min) to introduce themselves to the Delegates<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposal to host 2025 General Assembly (submit by: Oct&nbsp;1)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Proposal to include description of society\u2019s ability to manage an in-person event with remote participation as a&nbsp;written document or as part of the&nbsp;video<\/p>\n<p>Proposal to include a&nbsp;short video describing the host city\/region and delegate experience to aid consideration of the proposal by Delegates<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Proposals for general consideration (submit by: Oct&nbsp;1)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Both Societies and <span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span> Committees may propose changes to the Constitution, Bylaws, or policies of&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>Full explanation of the requirements may be found in the Constitution, Bylaws, and Standard Operating Procedures at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/en\/reference\/\">https:\/\/\u200bwww\u200b.iaru\u200b-r2\u200b.org\/\u200be\u200bn\u200b\/\u200br\u200be\u200bf\u200be\u200br\u200be\u200bn\u200bce\/<\/a>&nbsp;Submission will be via the General Assembly website, soon to be available.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>George Gorsline <span class=\"caps\">VE3YV<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Secretary <span class=\"caps\">R2<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:secretary@iaru-r2.org\">secretary@\u200biaru-\u200br2.\u200borg<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This bulletin summarizes the key Member Society activities to prepare for the General Assembly, held virtually October 31 through November 4&nbsp;in five sessions, each starting at 2300&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">UTC<\/span>.
