The primary objective of the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Monitoring System is to search for, classify, and identify transmissions sent by non-amateur stations that cause harmful interference to amateur radio services, contrary the International Telecommunication Union (<span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span>) regulations and national radio regulations, and to take initial steps leading to the removal of these transmissions from amateur radio&nbsp;bands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For years, the national coordinators of the <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Monitoring System and their teams, all volunteers, have monitored amateur radio bands for such transmissions. Given the current increase in these types of emissions, collaboration from member societies is essential for this <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> working group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend that our member societies appoint an <span class=\"caps\">IARUMS<\/span> <strong>National Coordinator<\/strong> to join and cooperate with this <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> Monitoring System. The National Coordinator should select collaborators who will assist him with the tasks of band monitoring and reporting transmissions from non-amateur stations (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iaru-r2.org\/en\/spectrum\/monitoring-system\/iaru-monitoring-system-r2\/\">https:\/\/\u200bwww\u200b.iaru\u200b-r2\u200b.org\/\u200be\u200bn\u200b\/\u200bs\u200bp\u200be\u200bc\u200bt\u200br\u200bu\u200bm\u200b\/\u200bm\u200bo\u200bn\u200bi\u200bt\u200bo\u200br\u200bi\u200bn\u200bg\u200b-\u200bs\u200by\u200bs\u200bt\u200be\u200bm\u200b\/\u200bi\u200ba\u200br\u200bu\u200b-\u200bm\u200bo\u200bn\u200bi\u200bt\u200bo\u200br\u200bi\u200bn\u200bg\u200b-\u200bs\u200by\u200bs\u200bt\u200be\u200bm\u200b-\u200br2\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please provide the contact details of the appointed National Coordinators to the Regional Coordinator, <strong>Jos\u00e9 Cornieles, <span class=\"caps\">YV5COR<\/span><\/strong>, via email <a href=\"mailto:monitoring@iaru-r2.org\">monitoring@\u200biaru-\u200br2.\u200borg<\/a> .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although prior experience in monitoring such transmissions is desirable, it is not mandatory for the appointed coordinators. <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> has tools and resources available to assist in their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reporting Intrusions in Amateur Radio&nbsp;Bands<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals who wish to report intrusions in amateur radio bands should send their observations to the Regional Coordinator, including the following information:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Their identification (callsign).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The frequency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The time in <span class=\"caps\">UTC<\/span>, as well as the date and&nbsp;month.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any possible identification transmitted during the transmission.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The mode of transmission, if&nbsp;known.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Where possible, include image, audio (in .wav format), and\/or video captures of the received signal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Important<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As per our terms of reference, The <span class=\"caps\">IARUMS<\/span> shall not become involved in the monitoring and reporting of harmful interference in amateur bands caused by stations identified as or believed to be amateur stations.
