The recommendation deals with general, technical and operational characteristics expected to future systems in amateur service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recommendation encourages experimentation and learning with respect to the use of different transmission modes and the propagation characteristics across different frequency bands, the worldwide interoperability, independent of other radio services, available for new operators and those in developing countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recommendation also stimulates the development of emergency communications and recognize the educational value of amateur service, the linkages between education institutions and national amateur societies: \u201capplying the technologies and techniques of amateur radio is also an ideal way to promote scientific, technical, engineering and math education for youngster students in the classroom\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This revision was approved in November\u2019s <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span>\u2011R Working Party <span class=\"caps\">5A<\/span> and Study Group 5&nbsp;meetings with participation <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> representatives and national delegations, including from Region 2: Jonathan Siverling (<span class=\"caps\">WB3ERA<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">USA<\/span>), Paul Coverdale (<span class=\"caps\">VE3ICV<\/span>, Canada) and Flavio Archangelo (<span class=\"caps\">PY2ZX<\/span>, Brazil), <span class=\"caps\">IARU<\/span> <span class=\"caps\">CITEL<\/span> Coordinator and <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span>\u2011R Rapporteur for Amateur and Amateur Satellite Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first result of other revisions covering different reports, recommendations and handbooks, concomitantly to the work on <span class=\"caps\">WRC-27<\/span> agenda items on <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span>\u2011R and regional telecommunications organizations like&nbsp;<span class=\"caps\">CITEL<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recommendation can be accessed at: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/dms_pubrec\/itu-r\/rec\/m\/R-REC-M.1041-3-202502-I!!PDF-E.pdf\">https:\/\/www.itu.int\/dms_pubrec\/itu\u2011r\/rec\/m\/R\u2011<span class=\"caps\">REC<\/span>\u2011M.1041\u2009\u2013\u20093\u2011202502\u2011I!!<span class=\"caps\">PDF<\/span>\u2011E.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many thanks to Flavio Archaengelo <span class=\"caps\">PY2ZX<\/span> for this valuable information.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the beginning of 2025, <span class=\"caps\">ITU<\/span>\u2011R published an updated version of the Recommendation M.1041\u2009\u2013\u20093, Future Amateur Radio Services.
