The dinner hosted by IARU on the first day of IARU Region 2 XIX General Assembly in Viña del Mar, Chile, set the ideal stage for Tim Ellam, VE6SH, IARU president, to deliver the Michael Owen VK3KI Award to Rod Stafford, W6ROD. The award is granted to those colleagues with an outstanding trajectory of service to amateur radio.

Obviously surprised, Rod was very grateful for being considered worthy of the Award that honors our dear and well-remembered Michael, VK3KI, who was himself an example of dedication to the interest of our hobby.
