Barry N. Kutner, W2UP has been named IARU Region 2 High Speed Telegraphy Coordinator. A radio amateur since he was 12 years old he is an avid contester and DXer that holds DXCC top of the Honor Roll and many other awards. He is a member of ARRL and the Frankford Radio Club.

He was a participant in the IARU HST 2005 World Championships, Ohrid, Macedonia and wrote an article about it in QST, November 2005. He was a speaker on the Contesting Forum of the Dayton Hamvention in 2006 with the “Extreme CW Contesting”.

International HST Competitions have many participants from Region 1 and 3. One of Barry´s responsibilities, with the help of the Executive Committee and the Member Societies, will be to promote this mode in our Region.
