World Amateur Radio Day celebrations in Cuba

In several Cuban locations, the Radio Clubs of Federación de Radioaficionados de Cuba (FRC) held activities on the air on April 18, “World amateur Radio Day”, and 92nd anniversary of IARU’s foundation.

The web page of the FRC’s information system had diverse publications to celebrate the date, among them one about “Fox Hunting” in the areas of the Lenin Park in the outskirts of Havana, where the winner was Jinley Boligan León (CL2JBL). In the westernmost Cuban province, Pinar del Río, residents commemorated IARU’s foundation date during an encounter programmed with that objetive in mind.

There were also Radio Nets to disseminate activities related to amateur radio around the world, emphasizing the campaign to celebrate the “International Girls in ICT Day” on April 27, especially those initiatives of the Feminine Front, a structure that brings together women radio amateurs in “the Largest of the Antilles”.

To all radio amateurs of the world, greetings and congratulations from your Cuban colleagues on this date.
