Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (INDOTEL) holds a public hearing with a view to modifying the regulations for radio amateurs.

Last Friday, October 2, INDOTEL convened the clubs of the Dominican Republic to a public hearing on the regulations for the amateur radio service. The event was led by the new president of INDOTEL, Mr. Nelson Arroyo, accompanied by the new executive director Julissa Cruz and the directors Marcos Peña, Fabricio Gómez, Pavel Isa, representing Miguel Ceara Hatton.

At the hearing, it was highlighted that in the new document, the new amateur radio applicants will have more facilities, the integration of all radio amateurs to the National Disaster Mitigation System.

Among the recommendations made for the new document, the RCD commission requested virtual examinations and the monitoring of the bands by the Institution. The RCD delegation was represented by Hugo Ramón (Hi8VRS), Rubén González (Hi8RG), Virgilo Malagon (Hi8HH), Jose Pereyra (Hi8C) and Juan Salas (Hi8JSG).
