Dominican Radio Club joins the DMR-MARC Digital Radio Network

rcdWith the collaboration of Mr. Miguel Perez (Motorola Senior Instructor) and the colleague Vantroi Peña HI8VP (General Manager of RADIOCOM — Motorola Elite Distribuitor in the Dominican Republic), the Dominican Radio Club, Inc., welcomed the contribution by the recognized Motorola Solutions company, of a Motorola XPR8300 UHF repeater. This repeater allows the integration of the Dominican Republic to the prestigious DMR-MARC (Digital Mobile Radio — Motorola Amateur Radio Club, for its acronym in English) digital radio network.

The delivery of this equipment was carried out during the recently completed Amateur Radio event (HAMFEST 2014). During this event, the Dominicans amateur radio operators enjoyed “DMR: THE FUTURE OF DIGITAL RADIO” conference, which was officiated by the colleague Fidel Palenzuela WD4CLZ, who until recently and within 35 years of uninterrupted service, served as Motorola Worldwide Trainig Leader.

With the entry into operation of this new repeater, the Dominican Republic turns together with Mexico, Chile, Brazil and Venezuela; in one of the first 5 Latin America countries in forming part of this wide digital radio network.

The DMR-MARC Digital Radio Network of Motorola Radio Club, was originally built by Motorola amateur radio operators, employees of Motorola and members of the Motorola distributors worldwide and currently has 367 repeaters installed in 23 countries (for more information, please visit the following web pages http://dmr-marc.net/ and http://dmr-marc.net/repeaters.html)
