The Colombian League of Radio Amateurs (LCRA) recently presented their “First Winlink Workshop (WL2K) for Multipliers”. This first of four workshops used “learning by doing” to train radio amateurs in Winlink. The intent is to “train the trainer” so that they can then train other radio amateurs in their respective local and regional LCRA associations.

Workshop topics were oriented to the use of the Winlink Express client program through the internet to send and receive email messages, including configuration and management of PACKET mode on VHF, and WINMOR and VARA modes oin HF. Also covered was the use the WL2K Express radiogram format.

As part of the workshop, LCRA installed two WL2K Radio Mail Servers, which are currently in operation.

LCRA intends that those attending this workshops will soon be holding their own workshops on Winlink in their respective locations.
