More stations to be active on WARD.

On April 18, 2013 we’ll celebrate the World Amateur Radio Day on the 88th Anniversary of the founding of the International Amateur Radio Union, IARU.

This theme for this year World Amateur Radio Day is “Amateur Radio: Entering Its Second Century of Disaster Communications”

Several Member Societies, and clubs related to them, will have special event stations on the air.

Mexico – FMRE, with the help of Grupo DXXE, will activate a unique prefix for the first time: 4A8DMR (DMR = Día Mundial del Radioaficionado). This station will be active from April 18 to 21, 2013 on all bands from 6 meters to 160 in all modes including EME and amateur radio satellites from different Grid Locators throughout Mexico.

Puerto Rico on the air in WARD 2013

To make echo of this year’s theme “Amateur Radio: entering its Second Century of Disaster Communications”, the Puerto Rico Field Day Group will be operating KP4FD to celebrate World Amateur Radio Day on the Municipal Emergency Management Agency Office (OMME) on the city of Cataño. There will be a presentation about Amateur Radio in the premises. Operation will be on the HF bands.

Portugal CR5IARU

On April 18, 2013 we’ll celebrate the World Amateur Radio Day on the 88th Anniversary of the founding of the International Amateur Radio Union, IARU.

This theme for this year World Amateur Radio Day is:
“Amateur Radio: Entering Its Second Century of Disaster Communications”.

The REP-Rede dos Emissores Portugueses with the group the operators, will activate the special callsign CR5IARU from April 13 to 19, 2013 on all bands.

Radio CLub Domincano

The Radio Club Dominicano will celebrate the World Amateur Radio Day in the Dominican Republic with several activities throughout the day that will include different talks at schools in the city of Santo Domingo and will culminate in the evening with the blessing of the renovation that was made in to the headquarters of the RCD.

Liberia Radio Amateur Association (LRAA) active durinrg WARD

Please be advised that EL2RL representing the Liberia Radio Amateur Association (LRAA) will be active on the 21st of April and not on April18, on 10, 15, 17 and 20 meters due to the pressing engagements of the members during the week.

I can assure IARU Regions EL2RL will be heard and that members of LRAA will be on the air to celebrate the historic day of April 18.
