The XXII IARU-R2 General Assembly was held in the city of Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, from October 6 to 10, 2025, immediately after the IARU Administrative Committee meeting. It was attended by 12 member societies, 7 in person and 5 by proxies, delegates from the International Secretariat and observer delegates from IARU-R1 and IARU-R3.

Among the topics addressed were the restructuring of IARU, reports from directors and member societies. finance, spectrum defense and management, workshops on emergency communications, satellites, CITEL, ITU, mutual recognition of licenses, IARP, awards and others.

Finally, the election of the new Executive Committee was held, which was composed as follows:

• Vice President and Director of Area G : Galdino Besomi, CE3PG
• Secretary and Director of Area B : Rod Stafford, W6ROD
• Treasurer : Gustavo de Faria Franco, PT2ADM

• Director of Area C : Jesús Sarmiento, XE1EW
• Director of Area E : Jaime Duarte, HK6W
• Director of Area F : Aldo Perich, OA4DPM

The host society, LABRE, offered careful attention to the participants, with cultural events and tours, in addition to having installed the commemorative station PX100IARU throughout the event in the hotel, with operation in all HF modes and bands. The participants thanked all the attention received.

LABRE presented a plaque to colleague Francisco José de Queiroz; PT2FR, in gratitude and recognition for his work of many years in favor of amateur radio in Brazil and Region 2.
