Dominican hams receive equipment donated for Haiti

Radioaficionados dominicanos reciben equipos donados para HaitíAccording to the news emitted by the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) published in January 22, 2010 in the ARRL webpage under the title “ARRL Sends Ham Aid Equipment to Haiti”, the Dominican Radio Club, Inc. reports the ARRL contribution consistent in 10 Kenwood TH-K2AT portable radios were delivered in our headquarters by the Mr. Douglas Lapin (K1OY).

These equipments will be used by the ham radio operators that will be sended by the Dominican Radio Club to the service of the Dominican Red Cross honoring the agreement of cooperation subscribed between IARU and the International Confederacy of Red Cross Societies for backup communications in cases of natural disasters and very especially in this occasion for the backup communications in the works of the rescue workers in Haiti.

In the photo is observed Mr. Douglas Lapin delivering the ARRL contribution to the executives of the Dominican Radio Club and the members of the technical “Alpha” team that supplied the communications with Haiti.
